I don't think there is an FTP server in the X2. It went, along with Telnet.

Any back doors by which the firmware can be cloned for use on other players has been removed. The 500x firmware has been cloned for all kinds of players, non of whose users paid Sanji.

Best depends upon you situation. I have mine networked and I have no problem setting up my PC to copy via network over night.

You have to enable the NAS function in the X2 sertup. This is a Samba NAS, not NFS.

NAS Mode (Off / On)
Set this option to On if you have an internal disk in your Mede8er and you want to be able to access it over the network.
When enabled you can reach your Mede8er by browsing to it in Windows File Explorer under the network icon.
Or you can type \\hostname in your Internet Explorer window (e.g. \\mede8er if you left the hostname setting on default).

I do and use firefox, nothing happen, i didnt get the mede8er. Is there a tool or something to test it ?

With firefox this will not work. Only with Internet Explorer.

What operating system are you using on your pc?
You can also type the same in the windows command line (windows keyboard button + r)

We would also be nearer undestanding your problem if you can help prove you have a proxy DNS server in your router. This is the most common cause of  netowrking problems with recent firmware. To do that we need to know your PC operting system ,and the make/model of your router.

Google for TeraCopy and install that.
It integrates with Windows File Explorer and works great.
