WiFi and fixed IP
« on: June 24, 2011, 08:23:15 pm »
I never had a problem to configure WiFi having MED500X a fixed IP. With MED500X2 even under "advanced options" (red button on remote) I find no option to enter fixed IP, network mask, gateway and DNS. I only managed to configure WiFi with DHCP. Am I missing something or is this a to-do for the next firmware version? ...

There are issues at the moment with wi-fi. I have read a description in a beta "to be done" list and shall find it for you.

I doubt that this has anything to do with Realtek SDK. I tested it on MED500X with 3.04 firmware. After having identified SSID and having entered WPA passphrase, an option follows to choose between DHCP and Fixed IP. This option misses in MED500X2 with 1.0 firmware and I would be pleasantly surprised if this has been solved in 1.0.1 open beta firmware ...

The 1185 has a new SDK and realtek have a habit of putting back  bugs they had removed  ages before.
