There are example networks in the 500/400 tips section.

Networking is not plug'n'play. I have spent a lot of time testing a new lan bridge with the X2 and after optimal tuning I can get between 6-7 mbs where I used to get 4.4 mb/s with the 500x.

How fast could you copy with the 500x and what are your getting now?

I think that is not much more speed than the 500X while the 500X has 100Mb port en the 500X2 has 1000Mb port.
That I do not mean the 500X2 10x as fast as the 500X but somewhat faster than now.

I use a netgear router,
1 cabel from the router to 2e floor where my computer is.
1 cabel to 1 GB switch, on that switch is the cabel from the 500X2
(there are more cabels ont that switch from my TV and Bluray)

Can you open the Med Nas from the PC and try copying a file from the PC to the Med hard drive. With windows the detailed version of the copy function window shows the copy speed.

I have made all de changes to connect via samba en it works.
De speed from the file explorer to the 500X2 is about 7.5 mb/s.

That is a very good speed for the X2.   You could try using one of the recommended copy tools to get it faster.

You could also change the title of your post. "Network was slow - but not anymore!"  ;)

Also if you used specific advice on the forum it would be nice if you could include the link to it.

See http://www.mede8er.com/mede8er_products_med500x2.html

Expected copy speed on the bottom, so this is close to what can be reached at the moment.
Read the  Mede8er 400X/500X Beginners Guide
or Mede8er 500X2/400X2/450X2 Beginners Guide

Also check the Couto X3D Newbies Guide first.

Please don't PM me but post on the forum.

I can confirm that the speeds stated in the leaflet at the bottom are correct.
Iam getting 9.5 MB/s write and 12 MB/s read speed using teracopy over a
gigabit network and a samba connection to the X2.
But this is stil slow compared to the 50-70  MB/s speeds I get between my NAS and the PC using teracopy.
Mede8er 500X2 no HDD
Software V2.0.4b 9 Feb 2012
Network: Gigabit
Audio: Coaxial output > Yamaha RXV740 A/V Receiver
Audio setting: SPDIF Passthrough  AC3
Video: HDMI output > Sharp LC32X20E
Video setting: 1080p 50Hz,24Hz ON,16:9

Lan performance has always targeted streaming with theses devices, and NAS functions for media transfer are just a bonus.

Becuase if Network Streaming wasn't required no chip maker would have added networking purely for data transfer.

It's the old Chicken and the Egg thing.  A mediaplyer is a media streaming device, which  can be used as a NAS within the performance requirments of streaming.  It isn't a high performance NAS, which can stream.
