GlynRS2 genre icons for Mede8er Video Wall

Following on from this thread, a few people have asked me to try and organise my genre icons to make it easier to download exactly what they want and not the whole icon collection.
It has certainly grown somewhat over the past few months and there are no over 400 different icons in 5 different styles - so the whole collection is over 2000 icons and the folder is 160Mb to download  


BRIEF HISTORY & ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

For the past couple of years I had been struggling to get my HTPC to play all the various media with the correct video and audio streams etc. This has involved almost continual tinkering and updating. Also the wife and kids just find it a lot of hassle to use when they just want to switch on and watch some content, as the PC always wanted to do something else first. In comparison the Mede8er is a dream to use - so simple but so effective too!
The reason I chose the MED400x is that I stream all my media off my NAS, so I did not need on board storage. My choice was between the Mede8er, the PlayOn!HD mini and the WDTV live. I went for the Mede8er because IMO it gave me just what I want in terms of a user friendly GUI and the Video Wall in the V4 firmware.

The one thing I do like about my HTPC is the MediaBrowser interface in 7MC. In particular I have got used to the Xzener genre icons as they match the names I know have for my folder structure. So in order to keep things simple for me I adapted these for use with the video wall.

I would therefore like to acknowledge all the work done previously by Xzener. His original icon pack can be downloaded here.
This includes a Photoshop template originally made by a member of another media player forum which Xzener then adapted for use with the MediaBrowser plugin.

Since starting all this I have not only modified Xzener's original icons but made a large number from scratch on request in the original thread.

ORGANISATION OF PACKS

I have now organised each of the icon packs into various folders:

• Genre - these are various genre types you may wish to use
• Categories - this includes various categories by which you may wish to organise your collection such as "A-Z", "Decades", "Years" etc.
• Specific Series or Collection - this is pretty much as the title suggests and includes the various icons I have made on request.

Hopefully, it will make it easier for you to find what you are looking for  


MUSIC GENRE ICONS

As we can now play music from the video wall on the MED500X2/MED400X2 or on the original Mede8ers using Shizzl's modified firmware I was asked to make some music genre icons. It did not seem appropriate to use the clapperboard for music, so I came up with something different.

I have done this in six different styles, with each pack containing 260 different music genre icons:

It appears that some people like browsing their folders using the Movie Sheet view. I was therefore asked if I could adapt my genre icons to genre movie sheets.

I have done this using my V2 icons and done them in 3 background styles:

To use them as genre movie sheets you will need to copy the relevant image file into your genre folder and rename it about.jpg
For example:
Action copy.jpg needs to be renamed about.jpg

I hope that will help those who want to browse their genre folders using the Movie Sheet view.  To access this view press the "Info" About button on the remore control.

I dont like to ask, but I am using your genre icons which are fantastic and wondered if you could create 2 extras for me?

I am using "GlynRS2 Mede8er Case icons" and could do with a "Games" genre and "Adult" genre.

Games = Is the host to my interactive dvd collection (Dragons Lair, Dragons Lair 2, Space Ace, Hologram Time Traveller etc)
Adult = Well you can guess
