Show examples in Photo FOLDERS

Hello,

I have a MED400X with the latest firmware. I can access media (on Synology NAS) by UPNP, SAMBA and NFS and that all works.

The only thing I don't understand is that when browsing to a photo FOLDER (not the separate photos) some (sub) folders show an example of a photo contained in it on the right side, some folders do not show such an example.
Also I don't get what the condition is on which the choice of the example is based (it's certainly not alphabetical).
All my photo folders contain .jpg files, which are displayed correctly when selecting them separately.

Can someone explain this?

Did you also try to select the photo filter on top to get the thumb view?
What firmware version are you using? Latest can be anything, please mention a number.

Yes, I tried all filters and particularly when I select the photo filter (no matter in what photo folder) I get only empy thumbs.

Can you uploade one of those files that is giving an empty photo thumb on mede8er ftp?
Then I will give it also a try....

After a few days testing here an update (before I send examples by FTP):


1) Photos on whatever source (USB, netwerk, UPNP en NFS) display all EMPTY thumbs when the Photo filter is choosen on  folder level. Only when entering a folder, the filter can be used.

2) When doing the above via UPNP the mede8er crashes(!) and restarts.

3) Still the same first question (see start topic).

I already checked if some .jpg files could be the cause of the problem(s). I could not find a problem. Another UPNP "receiver" (My TV) does all functions without problems on these files.
Also re-installed firmware 4.04.


Do you still need .jpg examples to be FTP-ed for this?

My test results regarding to:

1] you have to go into the folder and then select the .
That is how it works and normal.
2] Upnp thumb view gives question mark icons, this does not work with Upnp.

regarding to 3] please upload some sample jpg on mede8er ftp from a file that does not give the preview.
I will give it a test.
