I had this issue aswell with 4.0.4. I simply Flashed back to 4.0.0 and the issue was gone.

I got my Mede8er since March this year and i have had "Zero" issues ever since i went to 4.0.0.

A couple weeks ago, on my PBO I installed  Shizzl's 3.2 mod of FW 4.0.4 that was modified for PBO. I ran into the same screensaver problem as described here. Although I had the screensaver set to "off", it kept coming up (and at inconvenient and illogical times).

 I went to  /usr/local/bin/resource/bmp and renamed the screensaver image (IMAGE_SCREENSAVER_LOGO.bmp) to something else, and the problem went away.

Sure, first of all this is not the mod sectionabout modded FW but original.
By renaming that file you disabled screensaver functionality - a complete different way and more a workaround than a fix.....

I was under the impression that the screensaver problem applied to both versions of 4.0.4 - original and Shizzl mod. And for those who won't go to 4.0.5 because they like Shizzl's mods too much, this workaround is quick, simple, and reversible.
