Hi all,

Since last week my Mede8er switches off after 15s and doesn't pick up on my tv. I took out the HDD and it does work in my computer, trying with an other HDD in my Mede8er gives the same issue.

I have the v3 software installed. Please help.

You might have some HW issue or corrupted firmware.

Suggest to first try to install the latest 4.0.4 firmware using FW recovery mode.
See the Firmware download section and instructions:

An alternative explantion is that your TV has upgraded it's firmware, which is possible with TV's using digital broadcasting.

V 4.04 didn't want to install at all, so tried the v4.03 and worked. But now after the restart it stops at the Mede8er Logo screen on my TV and doesn't go further than that.

Ok, it works now

Downloaded 4.04 again and went through the steps and it is working now,

Thank you for your help

Is it necessary to back up all files before a upgrade, I'm so afraid I will lose all info?

The V4 disk problems are not that that data gets lost or corrupted, it's that the disk structure becomes unreadable by V4 in n some cases. The media is still there, and ways to copy it can be found if re-formmatting is the only solution to make the disk readable.
