feedback on v4.0.4 final release

after upgrade from 3.04 to new 4.04 I notice that audio is little bit quiet. I tried to change night mode settings, but only difference is when I put it on Comfort.
when it is on "night" or "none" it is still  little bit quiet for me ...

anyhow .. video wall is good to see, but I am not impressed too much...

-Bootloader: pached 17 (have 26, I could not have firmware 4.0 without it)
-Not using an usb 2.0 compliant usb stick: USB is the same used for all previous updates (I use the HP tool to formated it 2x)
-Having a hanging hdmi port that stops the update: I have not tried it, I'll tell if passes.
- Having downloaded a corrupted firmware or corrupt the fw while unpacking: I downloaded two times? Unpacking withouth probs.

i always get error  that the firmware is not right for my model , but  i have tried  both  for MED500X  and same error
"Mede8er firmware will not work on this hardware"

Check again, you might accidentally download firmware for MED400X.

Use Composite to TV while upgrading firmware.
You can check downloaded firmware using HashCalc, and here's the MD5 hash for both version :

Night mode is simply "normalizing" sound input, so there's no shocking sound while watching movies. It will increase low volume sound, and cut high volume sound, but it depend on the source.
There's still has Media Library if you don't want to use Videowall

Are you using an amp for audio? be sure your audio setting is on max +31 on your mede8er.

Is not switched off from any place. Standby mode working. But full power of with long press button not working

Tried that twice, but the issue remains.
The strange effect of the logo moving around the screen and painting the screen black as it goes is weird.

I set the screen saver to 'on' at five minutes this at least stopped the problem of having to exit all the way out to the top level.
So at least the screen saver stops

When will this be fixed, it's starting to become a major annoyance?

I've even started looking at other media players because of this.

I am not able to reproduce this with the screensaver.
Have not seen more people yet with same, only one and that was caused by using config restore.
Reloading firmware solved it.

Can you give some more detailed info on this? What do you see exactly and is it on all?

My problem is solved. I had a hanging hdmi port that stops the update.
I Use Composite to TV while upgrading firmware. All is OK.

Ok, well I've never used the config restore and the problem remains.
As stated I have now set the screen saver to 5 mins which although not what I want ti does cure the problem of having to exit all the way to the top level.

The subtitle issue is on all my video-ts folders, regardless of what software I used to rip them, the subtitles always appear until the subtitle's are turned off when playing.
The subtitles are set to off in the settings but it makes no difference.
This has been noted in several posts for previous firmware, so why do you ask 'what issue'?

Your one of the unlucky users for which the new SDK has created DNS/WINS problems. You csn turn the NAS on can't you? We do have one users who can't turn it on at all.

Yes - NAS can be turned on and is enabled. Is there workaround for the DNS/WINS problems ?
