Is it right that there is no 'moviemeter' support ??

Has change the setting from imdb into moviemeter and run yamj
but still there is the imdb scrapping the movie. (No dutch plot)

And:

The offered explanation in the yamj settings about de wiki page
'http://code.google.com/p/moviejukebox/wiki/plugins'
can not be found.

P.s. this is how i changed the internet setting:
internet.plugin = com.moviejukebox.plugin.moviemeterPlugin (under mjb)
id.search = moviemeter (under moviemeter)

hi all,
..first time poster since having my mede8er since xmas

....liking the video wall  but have a problem installing Y2M on my new win 7 premium laptop.

have installed the latest java but i keep getting 'java is not recognised as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file' ??

have installed it fine on my other 2 pcs but dont know how to sort this problem out?

have tried both 32 and 64 bit but still the same problem

any help would be greatly appreciated.

cheers.

I had the exact problem with win7 64bit enterprise

Try this.

Find MovieJukebox.bat - it is in the folder you installed the entire package.

Open it with notepad.

It will have a line similar to the following.

java -Xms256m -Xmx1024m -classpath .;resources;lib/* com.moviejukebox.MovieJukebox %*

change it to include the full path to where java is installed.

Below is a sample of my path

C:\Progra~1\Java\jre6\bin\java -Xms256m -Xmx1024m -classpath .;resources;lib/* com.moviejukebox.MovieJukebox %*

save it - try again.#

NOTE: You need to ensure the path to java matches yours - search in c:\program files\java - you should find it in there.

hi,
havent got this file in my folder/download......downloaded and installed the newest 64 bit version and have got the same problem?
cheers

Getting these kind of errors mean that something is wrong with your Java setup or with your windows environment variables. Has nothing todo with YamJToMede8er package.

It's working on the computer. But I have no idea how to get it working on the mede8er.
What do I have to do on the Mede8er to browse the different movies with their decription & image ?
The last step is "run yamj" to mede8er but I have no idea what to do next

thanks

Did you already find the step by step manual you can find here:
http://www.mede8er.com/mede8er_support.html

Video Wall manual is available under User Manuals

The movies have to be in their own proper folder in the \\meder8er root directory ?
or in the \\mede8er\movies folder ?

Is the location of the YAMJ folder of importance ?
Or does it also has to be in the mede8er root ?

If everything is placed in the right folders & I click the "run  the YAMJ to mede8er" it should work on the mede8er by going to the videowall ?

User manual is unclear / incomplete.
Or I'm missing something Wink

Anyway it seems like a great product so I'm willing to take the effort Smiley

thanks

Hi flouzje

Creating Cover Art for the Mede8er and using it on the Video Wall are two different things. Many users will use Y2M with the MED200X and MED300X that does not have a Video Wall facility. So you need to split this discussion into 2 parts

a) Using Y2M to make Cover Art
b) Using the Video Wall

Option "a"
You should read this online manual http://www.mede8er.com/mede8er_y2m_user_guide.html

Option "b"
You should read this online manual http://www.mede8er.com/mede8er_video_wall_user_guide.html

Yep, I wish the docs could be kicked up a notch or two.  I have my own questions.

For example, I use Media Wall (Mede8er) with a PBO, firmware build from late Jan 2011.

When I run YAMJ to MEDE8ER, is it in my best interest:
(Sorry; I am in the middle of scans/scrapes, so the wording isn't exact)
 - to have the YAMJ setting "Clear all data" checked?  Unchecked?
 - to have "Delete unused data" checked?  Unchecked?
 - If I get an error in the database (after every YAMJ scan, it tells me it can't find a nonexistant folder & file, even though that wasn't a part of that particular scan) what's the best way to fix this?  (I eventually just deleted the c:\jukebox\jukebox\CompleteMovies.XML file for lack of anything better to try and that seemed to fix it - but then it lost all knowledge of all my movies, naturally.)

Assuming Mede8er usage (ie the only thing it currently requires is about.jpg and folder.jpg) is there any reason for me to put the Jukebox folder anywhere special?  I'd imagine I'd want it on fast local storage so as to make the scraping process faster; are there any other limitations or gotchas?

I *think* it would be best for me to have all data kept (persistent across scans), but I'm not sure the best way to do that.  (Keep all the defaults of those 2 settings above?  Then what do I do if I get that corruption again?)  Otherwise, each directory scan takes 30 minutes all over again, rather than 1-2 minutes if all the movies in the directory are "known" to the database.

For example, I have:
1-F, G-N, O-T, and S-Z directories on different disks & shares.

I must scan each individually (which is cumbersome; I wish there was a better way short of Windows DFS), and then I must run the 'Run YAMJ to MEDE8ER' script to plug the scanned data into the correct folders on my shares.  Since each folder (each scan) takes 30 minutes or so, this is a tedious process.  How can I ensure subsequent scans are fast (1-2 minutes) without data corruption?

Also, what does this section:

Version 1.5 of YAMJ introduces multi-threading to speed up the performance of YAMJ.
Initially the scanning parameters are set to a value of one each, meaning that there is
one scanning thread and one processing thread. You can try increasing these parameters to
larger values to increase performance. Increasing these parameters beyond "1" can lead to
unstable performance, such as skin compilation errors and downloaded image errors.

...mean?  Should I use multithreading, or not?  Is it safe, or not?  I have 4 cores, soon to be more, and I'd like to best use them, and these scans do take quite a while; what's the best way to speed this up?

...many questions....

A lot of questions indeed. But are you really expecting to get an answer here when you are one of those not using a mede8er but another box with hacked fw and asking support here?
You must be joking!

The questions center around Y2MJ and related tools, so yes, they all apply.  Isn't this the official thread for the new B6 of Y2MJ?  The front end really shouldn't matter.

Hi dclive

We do not provide any support for users who use hacked Mede8er firmware on other hardware whether it be firmware or Y2M related and I am sure you can understand this.
