HI,
I've got the C110 removed from my Set (with the help of my local distributor) and I am now able to watch movies via HDMI connection (with my Full HD 3D plasma TV with HT System) and does not mess with Viera Link function

I however notice that whenever MED500X is on standby or complety switched off, it will still break Viera Link function and the only way (for me) to workaround it is to unplug HDMI connection and only plug them whenever i want to use.

This is somehow inconveniene but a lot better than connecting via RCA cable and not enjoy 1080 output.

Appreciate this thread is a bit old, but I have (not for long) an AC Ryan Playon Mini2, which experienced the same CEC interference problem.

Rather than opening the box and removing/changing CAPs, all I did was bend pin 13 up on one end of an HDMI cable and voila - problem solved (4th pin in from the right on the top row).

Diagram here explains.

I can also fully confirm the last post from bradders15.
Just 10 minutes ago I made the same adjustments to my HDMI-cable and everything works perfectly now.
Mede8er doesn't interrupt CEC-signals between my SAT-receiver and TV anymore.
Thank you!

Ciao Stefan :)

I can confirm that bending back pin 13 on the HDMI works for Samsung Anynet devices(tv and bd home theatre).

Hi guys,

So I have a Med500x, running v4.05 connected to a Samsung UA46ES6200 with no other peripherals (amp, DVD player etc). I can't get the HDMI working. After reading this thread I have tried to bend the pin on one end of my HDMI cable as suggested by bradders15 however this does not fix the problem for me. My next question is how diffeicult is it to remove the cap (http://www.mede8er.org/artwork/temp/pin13_cap_MED500x.jpg)
without damaging any other components? Would using a set of thin tweezers be the right way to go and just pull it out? Failing that who would be able to do this in Durban as a recognised local distributor?

Other info if required:
Board - 1073DD
HDD model - ST31500341AS

Thanks

Hi,

Found this old thread, because I have these problems with my MED400X2S.

I am just about to buy a MED600X3D.

Do you know if this HDMI/CEC issue is solved in the MED600X3D, or do you still need to modify the MED600 or cut pin 13?

Thanks.

IT is fixed on the x3d, one reason  being that  actually supports CEC functions.

The X2s was an unfortunate reversion to  the X1 termination.
