I successfully (?) upgraded the firmware to V4 on my MED500X, but now when I browse to files on the locally installed HD and then "select" them, instead of playing the file, Mede8er just powers down.  This happens with any file I try.

Any ideas why this is happening?  Mede8er worked fine on the previous firmware...

i had problems with the new firmware aswell , as have other people .
there are some solutions for it.
maasbommel could point you in the right directions (or just read the posts in this part of the forum )
the easiest solution which worked for me , was downgrade to v4 beta 5  the last firmware that worked ok for me .
you can still download this firmware (just as all the others ) in the download section

right but i think that stayin in a  beta firmware is not a solution, did you upgrade your firm with a 0022 or 26 bootloader???

I had a previous beta installed.

When I did the bootloader 17L patch, it caused the unit to hang on the 'logo' screen after saying it'd successfully installed the bootloader.

Called technical support in the Netherlands (very helpful!) who suggested I install the V4 beta 5 patch, which apparently also includes the bootloader, but might more successfully install it.  This worked fine, (and I noticed that the beta 5 version didn't have the problem I was experiencing.)

Then installed V4 firmware again, this time no problem with the unit rebooting when I play media files, so (hopefully) all is now OK...

Now to work out how to get all these new features to work!  Smiley
