I know that the MED500X supports Subtitle files: SRT, SSA, SUB, SMI format

I'm also pretty sure that SSA subtitles are similar if not the same in code as the ASS subtitle format.  Regardless, just to confirm, does the MED500X support ASS as well?  If not, will the firmware creators consider adding ASS subtitle support?

there's many subtitle format availabe, ass is advanced version of ssa (sub station alpha).
you could convert ass to ssa, srt, or micro-dvd sub, using subtitle tool eg subtitle workshop.

adding another subtitle format is low priority in firmware updates.
