From V4b5, made config backup, upgraded to V4 Final (no HD version)
Choose language (Dutch)
Load config backup, language is in Cyrillic (Greek Russian whatever.....)  Huh Huh what the  Lips sealed
Finally remembered which tab was the language tab, that problem was solved.
At last, coffee and an episode to watch....
$#% no NFS response.....
My NFS paths are ok, but no response, no spinning "8" nothing, only a blank screen with the  "go back" arrow.
The strange thing is that wen I press the Return, it goes one level up in my NFS link, and doesn't returns to the media selection screen.

192.168.1.11:/mnt/HD_b2/series/

Press Enter -> blank screen, only "go back" arrow.
Press Return on remote
192.168.1.11:/mnt/HD_b2/series/
Press Return on remote
192.168.1.11:/mnt/HD_b2/
Press Return on remote
192.168.1.11:/mnt/

Finally my coffee is cold, I regret to upgrade before watching my TV show....

Flashed the firmware back to V4b5, loaded my config backup, no problems at all....

It's too late for figure this out, a lot of my family got a mede8er on my recommendation..... It's a pity that there's always a catch somewhere when you flash a firmware, final or beta....

Hi kosz,

You are right. Config file from beta5 to V4 final is not compatible when using NFS links.
Only way is to fresh install V4 and then set config settings manually. Afther that you will notice all is working fine.
Same for other way around: when doing config save on V4 final, it will not work correctly when using in when downgrading and reading in V4beta5.

Ok, but that's for tomorrow, first catch some ZZZzzzzz.....
But, why is there an option to save your config, if you never can use it when you upgrade ?
I can't figure out an other scenario when I ever needed a saved config file.....

saving and restoring config files should work fine betwen firmware version based on same SDK.  how you see, all v4 beta's suffer changes and this last one ,  a more stable one, suffer from same SDK modifications. expect that next fw final and stable will be on different sdk.
personally i give up at saving config file from v2.0.2 . really don't know why i save configs  Huh   Huh ... 'cause never use / restore.i always do it manually.

My personal expirience on this save config option is the same.
When using it on the same version or with a version that is in the same major release, then it works and is a very practical feature.
When using it from one major version to another, it does not work properly in most cases.

Same here. Save Config only useful if you're going to put same version f/w back on the unit, or maybe you want to 'clone' the settings to a 2nd unit. I never use Save/Restore Config...it only takes a few minutes to put the settings in and by doing this you also get to see if the devs have added/changed things in the settings menus.

Maybe if you only have to configure an ip-address it's a few minutes work, but I have to configure all my NFS links too....
And it's hell with the on screen keyboard, 1 typo and you can erase everything to where you went wrong because you can only go back with backspace.......
So, if it's possible to do a config restore, it's a blessing.
Further more, as i said, a lot of family members have a mede8er, and I'm the helpdesk................
