i am getting sound only on some mkv and aac files.these play ok with vlc player on pc.i have installed the 4beta and v3.05 firmware,but to no avail.none of the earlier versions will play these files.these files work with sumvision hd mk2 player.is it firmware issues or the mede8er is just not good with mkv files?

thanks for advice,but did not work-it carried out 2/3 of process,then programme just stands still.a meesage tells me to fix my player instead of valid matroska software.any more ideas please.

Try this instead:-

Otherwise go back to source and use MKVmerge and remove Header Compression.

You will be able to play these files with version 4, but don't expect to stream them.
