Still on V3.0.4, but i would like to prepare folder and about images to be ready when that glorious moment of a "bugfree" release candidate finally will arrive.
However the scattered info on the the size and dimensions of those images seems very confusing.
After searching I came across following variability:
1. Folder.jpg and/or png?
In i.e. the Dutch handout for the videowall the ideal size of 156x232 pixels is suggested (why??), but somewhere else it is also stated that the width should not exceed 250 pixels.
French member Nosoul has supplied a PS-action that produces folder.jpgs, with rounded corners to improve the looks of the video wall, with dimensions of even 269x400 that should work as well!?.
In the English handout and several posts it's concluded that you can't see folder.jpgs of more than 75 kb.
156x232 pixel images do seem rather small for filling a 1080 pixel high surface with 2 rows of folder.jpgs only.
Are those small pics blown up (maybe even to 269x400?) or is the fullscreen not used and are those tiny folder.jpgs locked in a smaller window?
2. About.jpg and/or png?
The handouts suggest 1280x720 pixels as the ideal dimensions (why??), nothing however is suggested for the size in kb or Mb!?
After searching in all the scattered info in one place the maximum size is mentoned as 1 Mb at another place the maximum size is set at 500kb?
French member Nosoul apparently uses 1920x1080?
Again is an about.jpg of 1920x1080 possible and is it shown over the full screen (good for readability of the text) or is it anyway locked in a 1280x720 window?
Perhaps one of the developers could have a final word on what sizes, dimensions and types are possible, including the reasons why/or pros and cons!
