My Mede8er is connected with my audio receiver via SPDIF optical cable. I am experiencing a short, but yet noticeable audio drop while watching movies with SPDIF pass-through, Changing the setting to 2ch pass-through made it worse My current Mede8er firmware version is V3.0.4. Changing the setting back to pass-through spdif  made the sound loss allot better but it is still there. Will it just better to use coaxial and make use of prologic on the amp?.

Please also post the brand and type of Amp your are using.
Maybe there are people around with the same amp and can give you some tips.

This is a problem with all audio currently. If you  think losing the first second is bad with a movie just think how bad it is when playing music!

The issue is that the amp has to detect what audio is being used and switch to the correct codec. It "sounds" like the first any amp get's to know what that is is when useful audio is being sent. You really need the souce to give the amp time by sending out a null stream with the correct header before the main stream starts. When playing Music that should only occur with the first track played and from then on a continuous stream should be sent until the last track is played. The stopping and starting of the audio stream between tracks cuases amps to switch modes.
