Added War and Drama. I however can't find a decent picture for fantasy. When i think fantasy, i instantly imagine Lord of The rings, but i can't find any decent pic that describes the word in one eye sight.

HI there, Just wondering if somebody could help please.
I have downloaded settingsuns genre art files. Converted them to jpg and put them in a folder called videowall on my mede8er.

I'm having a lot of trouble trying to get the pictures to show on the videowall. When choosing what icon I would like to use for each shortcut, I seem to only be getting a blank folder and no artwork.

Thanks for any help.

Best wishes

Obviously as i use them myself, i made them for myself.

I also uploaded it again as it seems that rapidshare is useless.

I haven't tried v4 yet but have a quick question about genre art for the videowall which I hope someone can answer...  I don't have an internal disk or external USB drive attached to my Mede8er.  I stream everything over the LAN from a Windows Home Server (which works great  :)).

From what I have read it seems the only way of customising the genre artwork is to install a hard disk or plug in a USB drive.  If I use a USB drive to store the genre images can this be removed once they are configured or does it need to remain permanently attached?

Thanks,

Mark.

Just read the V4beta4 video wall instructions that come with the firmware.
No need for usb disk or internal mede8er disk. Cover Art Video Wall will also work from Samba shares or NFS shares.
Read the  Mede8er 400X/500X Beginners Guide
or Mede8er 500X2/400X2/450X2 Beginners Guide

Also check the Couto X3D Newbies Guide first.

Hi Massbommel,

I have read the videowall instructions.  The videowall instructions state:

22) To apply custom artwork for the Genre covers you must create artwork in PNG/JPG format to
pixel size of 156 x 233 pixels. Create a new folder in the root of your Local Hard Drive or USB
Stick called “videowall” and copy your images to this folder
. The Mede8er will now allow you to use
your own custom images for the Genre links on the Video Wall.

Are you saying that I can disconnect the USB disk after selecting the images?  Sorry if I am misunderstanding something but the videowall instructions don't clarify this point.

Thanks.

Thats only needed when you want to change the standard Genre Icons to personal ones.
If you use the standard Genre Icons that come with V4, then there is no need for an internal disk or usb stick/disk. Movie cover art will still work on the video wall.

edit:: yes, the disk or stick needs to stay attached if you want personal customized Genre Art Icons.

Im getting really tired of these [CENSORED]ty upload sites.

For images you can use an SD card that stay in the mede8er. That way you can have them without needing a harddrive in your mede8er and or have something sticking out on the side.
