i have problems installing the new firmware
with the emergency procedure..
it says
installing V4..
then i see couple of  blocks
but then it freezes......
any ideas?

I think of 2 possible root causes:
1] you have a DD unit in stead of a DD+ unit and need to load the 17L patch version first and after that the other version
2] you have and issue with your usb stick. It contains some hidden partition that is preventing the bootloader update. Use this solution as stated in the release notes:

Please be patient as the update from 17L is much longer that the normal firmware update. Also if  the install does not complete then we suggest you download this utility

i have bootloader 26L
+ a DD+ mede8er

so i think its option 2
im formatting the usb disk right now (through windows vista - fat32)

does the pdf file need to be on the usb disk too? or only the image file?

Only the img file needs to be in the root of the stick, not the pdf.

I have also noticed last night, some of my movies also has green artefact at the beginning, but I will try several again and check/compare the mediainfo log .. I hope not Mede8er bug ..

im prety sure its a firmware bug, i never had this kind of issue with 3.0.4 version! i relay hope it will be fixed in the final release oin addition to the slower iinterface etc...

Three issues with Internet Radio:

1. Search option: I'd like the space character added to the keyboard to be able to search e.g. "Mart Radio".
2. A search for "Mart" showed 19 pages; pages 18 and 19 were blank. On page 18 a scroll forward and/or backward wasn't possible.
3. When a radio station is played the right part of the screen is too small; it doesn't show all radio information.
3a. Question: is the column width adjustable?

Only the img file needs to be in the root of the stick, not the pdf.

cause they are speaking of 2 files... i only got one then (without pdf)

i just tested it again (after formatting usbstick),and it keeps freezing at block 7 of the progress bar..

-I have no sound on amp when i have a 2 channel movie and SPDIF is set to Multichannel. I must set it to 2 channel.Then i have sound. In 3.0.4 i dont must change the settings.

Can you not set it to passthrough?

yes i can change the setting but in 3.0.4 i dont must do that.

Make sure you have set your Default Gateway/DNS correctly. Mine kept defaulting to 127.0.0.0 (I think) when it should have been 192.168.0.1.

how can I change the attitudes? the IP assigned by the router. download the radios functioned however I cannot listen to transmitters.

Most likely Windows 7 issue (though could be due to the your first point too). You need to disabled password access in the Network and Sharing Center.

In the File Manager when i want to copy something from my NAS to the local HDD i have to type my user and password. But when i have to type that the Mede8er icon is on top of the screen, so i can hardly see what to select. Once the keyboard appeared and disappeared the icon is gone though.

Also on numerous occasions i had to reset the mede8er(DC out and in again). I haven't noticed where this happens exactly, but one occasion was when i used filemanager for the second time. It freezed. When i had resetted the machine and used filemanager again, the settings were gone, so i had to type the user and pass again.

You might consider to first ad a shortcut in the network menu and save this before going into filemanager.

Out of interest, why is the folder depth limit 2 with the Video Wall?

Ideally, a limit of 3 would be better to allow TV Shows\Show Name\Episodes. I imagine if a limit of 3 was introduced there would have to be a way of setting which folders have a depth of 2 or 3 eg.

Movies\Moviename\files.ext (depth of 2)
TV Shows\Showname\Season\files.ext (depth of 3).

I agree with djpathic.

It would be nice to have a folder depth of 3.
The videowall is great, and also the genres. But it would be nice and obvious to make a genre from TVshows as well.
Now i have to choose to use the videowall for my tv series OR movies to use it the way it should. Or i am doing it wrong.

I have created Genres for my movies:
Drama, Thriller, etc. And the moviefolders are in the genres.
..\Movies\Drama\The Lovely Bones\The lovely Bones.mkv
..\Movies\Thriller\The Experiment\The experiment.mkv

Now with the above i cannot use series, as they are a level too deep with seasons.

Is there someone who has a great solution to solve this and still have a nice navigation?

The only 2 level solution I can think of is:

TV Shows\Show Name - Season\filename.ext

This way you would have a poster for TV Show and then a poster for each show per season. I think it would then display the filenames/episodes for the show - season you selected.

Depending on the amount of shows and seasons you have it could be a big video wall.

Yesterday i've updated and my bootloader 0017L and to V4. It looks great. Many thanks.

I have had two problems to solve:
1.    All the configuration settings were gone. O.K.. But my FIX IP settings were (of course) also gone after the update. This was a little bit irritating because it is not so easy to solve unless you're very familiar with it.  

2.    After the update I've got 6 folders instead of 3 in the root of my HDD.
Before ; Movies, Pictures and Music.
After:      Image, Movies, movies, Music, music, Pictures

movies and music are shortcuts to Movies an Music. don't know if it's a good idea to delete the shortcuts.
