Hi all.

I am still on FW 3.x.
I am following the discussions and waiting for a final stable release.

I've noticed that the new FW beta5 does not require a separate bootloader update. Is that correct?

if only your device has already have bootloader 26.
if not (still 17 bootloader) then you have to patch it ...

Thanks for the info.

I have booloader V17

I am planning a HD upgrade in the next weeks, but I'll stay on FW 3.x.

Does it make sense to update ONLY the bootloader for now?

So that the upgrade to FW V4 final will be easier?

Have a nice day.

Just following the instruction that comes with V5beta5 should be ok.
No need to load other lower FW patch file.

Just to be sure: I want to update only the bootloader, NOT the firmware. So after the second reboot I stop the update process and keep using firmware 3.0.2. Correct?

No, only way is to update and wait until procedure is finished.
And then downgrade firmware again.

Bootloader will stay, firmware will go to lower version.

Hi Maasbommel.

So I think it is safer/easier to do the whole upgrade (bootloader and firmware) once the final V4 is out.

Have a nice day.
