I think that is exactly wath I did.
I reinstalled Windows Live Mail and after that when the mede8er asked to logon, I put in  my e-mail username and password (found in accounts-properties-servers). That was accepted.
So maybe that will work for u2. (put in the boxes the first part of you email adress (up onto the @) and the passord your email server requiers.

Or perhaps not as I had tot reinstall the PC and afterwards I couldn't get it right again... Huh Cry

My appoligies for spelling or term errors, I'm translating my dutch toughts in english..
Good luck

My connection is working again, this time after removing live mail I updated windows 7 with windows update, every update except the windows live essentials update, wich is optional.
I checked if my mede8er was still connecting, and it was, so I made a restore point.
Then I did the windows live essentials update. The mede8er stayed connected, and does not ask for a log on.
(check is you have the settings in the configuration of the homegroup/network set to acces without a password).

So now it's working together, Grin side by side on my PC, Mede8er and Windows Live Mail (version 2009, build 14.0.8117.0416)

Maybe worth a try. Good luck everyone.

hi there guys,

I have been having endless issues with setting up network shares on my pc as well. I keep getting logon failed no matter which instructions I follow on this site.

This is my current setup:

PC using Windows & Premium 32 bit.
Connected via Wireless network. Router is about 5m away from PC in another room. Signal strength is full.

Mede8er in the same room with the router connected direct via cable.

I am going to try these settings as well, but so far everything I have tried doesn't work, including Hanewin.

Should I update to latest Beta firmware and see if that works? I don't even use Windows Live Essentials on my PC. If it was updated via Windows Update I will uninstall.

I am quite close to giving up and just stick to using Internal HDD and external HDD.

Same problems here ..
For months everything was working fine , thanks  to Maasbommels manual to configure Guest account and filesharing with W7
Since a few days Mede8er is asking for network id and password for acces to my pc ??
After I read this topic I set my pc to a recovery point ( before Windows Live essentials 11 ) and everyting back to normal :-)
So many thanks to the guys who found this solution .
When will this be fixed ?? I mean when can I install Live Essentials 11 ?

..... Maybe better ask Microsoft what they did in Live Essentials that is blocking filesharing?

I am afraid I have not enough technical knowledge about networks.
I hope to find a solution here from other users ;-)
