I have the same problem. how did you manage to format the disk? I can access it in windows now, finally, but still it will only display a large 8 on screen, and after a while, it just stops sending anything to the screen at all. changing the input channel I tried: did not help. also, I tried using a regular cable, instead of the HDMI cable, which gives no signal whatsoever, even when trying to change the output signal.

does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? Sad

edit: I think it's safe to rule out the harddisk. it also will not boot without a harddisk.

When you connect your mede8er to your PC by usb cable, it will run in USB disk mode, responding like a disk.

When you want to use your mede8er to play on your PC, you have to remove the usb cable from your pc and it will boot into normal mode again.

yep, I noticed it will reboot if I plug in or plug out a USB cable. however, either way, it will not display anything more then the big 8..

edit: problem found, somewhat. on a different TV, it does show the menu. now, I'll just need to figure out why it won't on the regular TV. I find it odd, though, that it would work on an older tv, instead of on a newer TV, which never had any problems with a PS3, for example, running on full HD..

any idea where to look for the cause?

You probably have setup wrong video mode.
You can toggle video mode by pressing the TV Sys button, wait some 10 secs, if still no screen repeat this until you get output on the screen.

Suggestion: first read my mede8er beginners guide, link is in my footer.

well, I did that, several times, and nothing happened. I changed it on the other TV to 480P, and the aspect ratio to 16:9, and put it back on the regular tv. finally, it showed up. I changed it to the highest resolution on the regular TV (1080P 60hz), and now have a perfect image on the TV.

either way, thanks for the help. Smiley

Ok, that's another way. But the result counts.
Have fun.
