Try plugging in the yellow composite cable to your monitor and adjust your Mede8er's VIDEO OUT to the desired setting - perhaps the video setting has somehow changed back to HDMI AUTO.
I did as you suggested and plugged in the yellow cable (with HDMI disconnected). I was able to adjust settings to 1080P - 60Hz, it was at HDMI AUTO. Powered down, reconnected HDMI. Again it took the mede8er a lot longer to boot. Then I get the menu at lowest possible resolution (480P) and video is set back to HDMI AUTO. After a reboot the setting is 1080i 60HZ, but the settings I can choose from are limited to:
- HDMI Auto
- 480P
- 720P 60HZ
- 1080i 60HZ
All other options are greyed out. Weird thing is when the logo is displayed at startup, my TV tells me it is in 576P, which I cannot choose from the menu.
So, again, I unplugged everything, including the internal HD. Reinstalled the firmware (3.0.4) following the instructions. Exact same result.
Just to make sure the problem is not with my TV, I plugged my Blueray player into the same HDMI port with the same cable and I got 1080P with sound. So it definitely seems to be the mede8er.
I am focussing on video settings at the moment. I suspect HDMI is somehow messed-up so I am hoping that once this is fixed the sound will also come back .
What else can I do?
