Updating from firmware v1.2 to 3.0
« on: June 30, 2010, 11:56:13 AM »
Hi All

My Brother-in-law just got a new mede8er, and he has version 1.2. Can he go straight to v3.0 or does he has to do each firmware update one after another. He has already formatted the HDD using the Mede8er setup screen.

It is not necessary to install each firmware version successively - simply download and install the latest version - currently v3.0.4.
Be sure to use the installation method described in the release notes.
Questions? Please check the Mede8er Beginners Guide.

For technical assistance, please take note of the Technical support guidelines.

Ensure too that you are using the latest firmware when requesting support.

Is there something about the new software he needs? It's a shame but there are far too many posts from people whose upgrades have turned a working box into anything but a working box. At the moment upgrading is clearly a classic example of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".
