Hello Mede8er users,

I'm a new Dutch user of the Mede8er since yesterday (before I used the Egreat NMT M31B)
I like this new mediaplayer so far, but missing the use of FTP, Filezilla and is not possible right now.
Hopefully this will be made possible in a new firmware version.

Now I read alle the articles about NFS, but still don't work in my configuration for streaming with my NAS
Router: Linksys 610N
NAS: Synology 107+ (NFS enabled)

Still get message in Mede8er that's not working for  IP 192.168.1.104:/e for the whole drive or 192.168.1.104:/video for my sharename.
Firmware 1.2.2 and fixed IP
Someone knows what I'm doing wrong ?  Huh

I'm using Win7-64 and read the applicable articles on the forum and performed the registry adjustments without results

Hello PeeBee

Welcome to the Mede8er forum

FTP functionality will be in next firmware release and this will be very soon --hoping for this week

Re NFS I cannot really help you on the Synology 107+ as I dont have one but the basic rules remain the same for NFS to work

1) The NFS server must have have a IP (you have this) and a export name (share) but how you set up the export (share name ) on the Synology I really dont know.
2) The Mede8er as the "client" needs to know the IP of the server and the export (share) name and you have showed examples
IP 192.168.1.104:/e for the whole drive or 192.168.1.104:/video for my sharename.  --  I would remove the colon so that it looks like this and try again   IP 192.168.1.104/e         192.168.1.104/video

Sorry I cannot be of more help

Well, I managed to use NFS now, shame on me  Grin

In the Synology NAS I had to specify the user rights for NFS per share
so for mede8er correct sharename is: 192.168.1.104:/volume1/video

Hello PeeBee

Great that you got it working - Maybe you could post some information on how to set the user rights for NFS on the Synology 107+to help others.

Morning,

Yes i am but must admit i don't know much about it. I'm also battling with NAS. I have activated NAS and i have set up itunes media player location to be //mede8er/c but when i import a cd nothing gets sent to hard drive, not sure if the issues are related and if i have everything set up correctly. I don't normally battle with these kinda technical stuff but i'm stumped here.

If you want to go directly into the Hard Drive then type in: \\mede8er\HDD

I get "C" instead of "HDD", i'm guessing it's the same. If i copy files to this location \\mede8er\C, i can access these files via the NET and Hard drive of the players menu. On NET is comes up under WORK GROUP. Does it show up on both because of the network share? Sorry if this sounds like a dumb question but i'm just trying to understand the workings of it.

I just need to figure out now how i can download directly to the hard drive when importing cd onto iTunes without getting error messages.

My apologies - you are correct.
I am busy beta testing 1.2.3 where the label appears to have changed, hence my confusion - 1.2.2 uses \\mede8er\c for HDD

Your best bet would probabgly be to 'map' the drive - then you are assured of an easy drive path.
