Hi unclex0r!

I think that is two questions  Wink  For current version go to System setup --> System. Software = firmware.

To check if you really need it you have to read the changelog and see if you want/need the new functionality and bugfixes in the new versions. You probably want to update to all new versions, with maybe an exception for beta firmware.

Kind regards

hi
I just upgraded my player from 1.21 (with arrived yesterday) to 1.22, and it is freezed into the upgrade-process.
it hungs at the boot screen up and waited for ever...
after that I pull the power plug from the socket, and back so it boots at the the end, but I am not too happy, what will be that this machine does not boot  the next time after that poweroff/on...
so I would like to downgrade it to see that the earlier version of your firmware could be a bit stable.
so I need your 1.2.1 firmware.
tx a lot for it in advance

Hi Luppio,

The 1.2.2 firmware is stable - I have installed and re-installed that firmware many times without issues.
I would recommend extracting the v1.2.2 firmware to the root of an empty flash drive and re-apply the firmware using the emergency firmware update process as detailed here.

Should you want the v1.1 firmware, there is a link in this Firmware board in the thread entitled as such - the direct link to the firmware is here.

Hi luppio,

The root problem of your update experience could also be a corrupted filesystem of your USB stick.
Just be sure to format your USB stick (and not use quick format, but full format) and then put the FW files in the root of the stick.

tx a lot for your reply. but I did everything complately you suggested. (of course it is not the first case in my life to do this)
I am sure that  the loaded file was not corrupted, cause the whole upgade-process run without any problem, only the reboot was hang up...
I am over.

Notes:
it s a bit strange that the Samsung HD154UI is not reported by system info of MED500X, just only 1T HDD instedd of 1.5T!

the other very tiresome that there is no way to choose any subtitles under playing some ISO file where it is sure it has subtitles. (the default subtitles ettings is : OFF)
The subtitles key of remote does absolutaly not work in this case...

one other note:
after some hours the boot-hang pohenomenon is not occured, se it seems everything is good. I think after any power-interrups the above phenomenon may come back... Sad

Hello luppio

V1.2.3 will resolve your internal HD size reporting bug and the DVD subtitles have been resolved. We are working on this release at the moment so we are hoping to release this week still.

Dear Mede8ter,

After months of dilemma's I have finally chosen my mediaplayer and guess who the winner is...! I have received my unit yesterday and installed a WD Caviar Green 1TB ... I am so happy. Played with the features yesterday and I know I have made the right choice.

Concerning the firmware upgrades I have the following questions:
- Do I need to install all firmware releases on top of eachother, like 1.1 > 1.2.2 > 1.2.3 (when this one is released of course) or can I just 'jump' from one firmware to another skipping the ones in between?
- Is this 1.2.2. the latest firmware and is it a stable version? In your post I see a link to the firmware where it states that the firmware is in the 'beta_firmware' folder.

Kind regards,
Another happy user ... SCC.

P.S. If you keep up bringing stable firmware and being honest to our customers, you will be the top brand! This is where other brands could learn a lot from you guys. If you bring good stuff, we sure can be patient and trust your effort and expertise. Thanks for bringing this beautiful product!

Hi SCC,

You can quite happily upgrade and downgrade between the various generation 1.x versions without observing the sequence - I would however recommend sticking to the latest version for troubleshooting purposes.

1.2.2 is the current stable version - it was merely stored in the folder with the other betas that led up to that 'final' - you can safely ignore the path (I've hidden the path now so it doesn't cause further concern).
