MED250X not reading portable HDD

Hi All! I got myself a new portable HDD, loaded all the goodies I had on the older portable HDD, plugged it in, but does not read it. When reading up on the new HDD, it is compatable with Windows 10. Would this be the reason for not picking it up? Is there newer firmware that would make it compatable?
