Ripping BD in 2021

Things change over time. Old tools disapear  or go from free to paid. And so am i describing how I do it today.

First set up  your PC to play encrypted disks using VLC....for free!

Next replace the keydb to the latest version from this site.

You need to go back regularly for the latest version.


Next set up a service to decrypt disks for any software that needs it using Xreveal. It will find and use the keydb already installed.

Next install the free version of ClonedDB.  It will only copy, not recompress. It does not decrypt. It does not have to as Xreveal is doing that job.

This method works with UHD disks if you have a  HD burner that supports libredrive.

You need to flash a modified firmware which turns it on.
