Cannot connect, SMB 1.0 not supported
« on: January 03, 2019, 05:24:22 PM »
Since the latest windows update.
I cannot connect to my mede8er anymore trough explorer.
see attachement (in dutch)
which says that windows will not connect to a device with smb1 or lower.

Is there any support?
Can someone give the sourcecode free so the community can repair it for themself?

Hope to hear from someone from mede8er.

Microsoft are making it difficult to force users to upgrade other kit.
SMB1 can be turned back on using Windows Features. Even then Network Discovery will avoid SMB1. You have to use Map Network Drive.

Hey jer1956,
Thanks for the lead, I've had to do some searching, but I found it. :)
I'm using Windows 10 Home Edition Dutch.
So for those with the same problem:
Ga naar Instellingen - Apps - Apps en Onderdelen.
Ga helemaal naar onderen, ga naar Verwante Instellingen, Programma's en functies.
In de nieuwe window, linkerkant, ga naar Windows-onderdelen in-of uitschakelen.
In deze nieuwe window kun Ondersteuning voor SMB 1.0/CIFS aan en uitzetten.

Let op, deze instelling is niet voor niets door Microsoft uitgezet.
aanzetten is een beveiligingsrisico!

Maybe the following article will help.
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/windows-server/networking/guest-access-in-smb2-is-disabled-by-default

Thanks Larry, I've enable smb 2 but the drive still doesn't show.

I've a feeling it is going to be a tough one  :'(

Perhaps you can find here something:

http://woshub.com/cannot-access-smb-network-shares-windows-10-1709/

It is a good resource, I tried all recipes to no avail. Thanks anyway.

Did anyone have any luck with this problem?

I have the same since upgrading 10 to 20H2.

I don't get an error message, just logon fail!

On my windows 10 Home (with all updates i think) the windows shares work most of the time but not always. I enabled "smb1/CIFS file sharing support". Below there are 3 checkmarks also. Then restarted. There can be problems if for example a new pc is cabled into the switch. However when my med600 and pc are restarted, the streamer will see the shares again. I always only set readonly on the windows shares because thats all needed by the streamer.
I only use shares (right click and go to tab shares), not mapped drives!
