Scan Failed (on everything)
« on: October 28, 2018, 10:49:52 am »
At first, I thought it may be a film that was causing the problem but I have now noticed that I get the same Scan Failed error on all my drives no matter whether they contain films or just TV series.

I note that nobody else seems to be complaining about this so am I really alone, in which case I suppose my 600X3D is ready for the trash can, or is this an issue others are experiencing?

I'm running the most current version of the firmware, v4.02.

I just deleted a scrape and rescanned and it was working. Try resetting to  default and re-accepting the permissions.
Also try the latest free DNS from cloudflare...1.1.1.1

Thanks for your reply jer1956. How do you accept permissions on the Med8er? I don't remember ever having been asked that before. Also, how do you install the free Cloudflare DNS?

The first time you scan  after resetting to  default settings  will bring up the Data Base rules acceptance page.

Manual DNS is part of the Lan setup underneath DHCP.  There is nothing to install. Just change the value to 1.1.1.1 or 1.0.0.1

Thanks for that. Before I do that, can you please confirm whether when you deleted and rescraped it was a film or a TV series?

I tried updating a single TV series last night and it worked. However, I then tried again with films and got the Scan Failed message.

Still not working for me. Should I delete the about.txt file?
