« on: March 24, 2018, 10:23:11 am »
Dear mede8er team:

I would like to buy an wifi med800 unit, but anyway i need to answer some questions:

How do I see the unit from a windows computer on the wifi network?
Can i transfer a file from my windows computer to the unit?

Any additional advice?

Thank you all!

Think very carefully before buying. The last batch where made three years ago mainly for current users who wanted a second player. It first came out six years ago.  Its internet features are becoming useless due to changes at the server end, such as YouTube. Unfortunately those with stock are not making that clear.

Hi jer1956

Thanks a lot for your help.

My question was related to send files from a windows computer to the device using the wireless connection, thats the reason. Probably the MED800X3D device will be seen as hard disk on the net.

Have a nice day!

Realtek only designed the wi-if for the bandwidth needed to stream 720p. It is little use for 1080p, and takes an age to copy files. You need lan for 1080p, and even via Lan copying is slow because it was designed for streaming 1080p, not copying.
