Alien Subtitle issue with Valerian
« on: December 05, 2017, 06:54:12 pm »
Anybody else having an issue displaying the alien languange subtitles with a MKV rip of Valerian? It shows some of the them, but many are missing.  Very weird, I have had very good luck all of my other movies that had forced subtitle sections.

It seems to me that if they are forced subtitles the ones that are missing simply aren't there. The player cannot remove them.

Have you tried viewing the same file on your PC?

I don't think the forced flag has ever been respected. You may get them by accident if you put them first in the sub list when muxing.

Nah you are all missing the point. Not all the alien subs are displayed only the ones that are relevant to the plot.

So has someone checked the subs file to make sure they are there?

Ya, i have tried playing both the regular and forced versions of the subs and there is just much that is missing. I do see some, but in some instances, it was obvious that not all of a sentence was shown at times... very weird. Obviously the SDH subtitle version shows everything.... I downloaded a SRT subtitle of the alien languange only and that version makes sense and displays dialog that corresponds with what should be displayed with the PGS sub track.
