Is your Mede8er attached to your home network, either wireless or through Ethernet?

In my experience, it is best to connect the drive directly to the PC using a USB enclosure or some such and copying files. You could get the benefit of USB 3.0 speeds and also be able to use the "USB Disk Ejector" software to cleanly disconnect he drive.

Since the wanna cry attacks Windows has been beefed up making SMB1 unusuable without a lot of tweaking. I haven't seen my X3D in Windows Exolorer for some time. I just haven't been bothered to try the online tweaks to fix it.

The client is still there. Trouble is they have removed the browser service which integrated it with File Explorer in the latest builds. They are forcing users to upgrade other devices and use smb2.
So a browser URL looks like the only way to reach smb1.

That works using net bios names. So the URL path is \\x3d\mede8er

You can make it appear in File Explorer using Map Network Drive.

If you have changed the host name name from X3D then the URL has to change to match.

thank you for replying. I know that i can connect directly to my PC with Usb but it is not easy for me because each time I have to disconnect it and reconnect it... So I thought that was easyer throught the windows explorer...

It is no longer available via Network Discovery putting SMB1 servers in File Explorer for you. You must do it manually as I described.

Hello jer1956.
Thank you for your interest.
I didn't understand very well how to do this when reading your first response . Can you describe me the complete process.
Have a good day
Jean

Follow the guide linked earlier, using \\x3d\mede8er as the share.

Please check your windows build version. Settings....system....about. It's in the right hand side scrolling column. Is it 1703 or 1709?
