Hello All,

Please can someone assist and tell us how to resolve the scrape issue with TV series. Like other users I also get a black square and nothing else. Would really be great if someone can tell us step by step how to overcome this issue.

Read the post 2 up. There is no solution currently but a number of us wait with baited breath for the possibility of one.

So, at the moment the subtitles only work if I use a specific DNS. If I want to scrap Movie info, I have to change that DNS. And to make this worse, TV Series info is currently not working...

Mede8er 800X was a great media center. Please someone tell us that there will be a fix, at least for the TV Series Scraper...

They are trying. But contractually the scrapers are free, and to be used "as is", for as long as they work. They are thus excluded from the support contract. If they had not done this, Mede8er would need a business contract with the websites, which users would pay.

I do understand your point. But what we are asking here is if we should have hope about a fix. Or if for example for some technical issues, there is no chance we could have this feature again.

It is a technical issue. But if the problem is not obvious and ends up an experiment in tweaking code, then mede8er will pull the plug.

There is a new version of TVRename (2.3b2) available.
This version fixes the bugs in 2.3b1 and is working fine.

Sad to find out my issues are a general problem to which no solution seems to be planned.
Last time Mede8er for me if this turns out to be true.

The issue seems to have a big impact with me:
- Subtitles can't be downloaded anymore.
- When scraping all JPG files are 0kb but also corrupted and cannot be removed from the hard disk anymore.
- When scraping the menu freezes. Only solution here is to unplug the power which caused corruption on my HDD.

And thanks to the slow (5MB/s) LAN chipset extracting the 2TB of movies, clips, music and series I gathered from the last years seems rather challenging task.

Just... unbelievable.
This kind of stuff impacting so many users should be a PRIO-1 incident with quick fix.

If Mede8er had new product you would just be told sorry, it's an old player, please upgrade.
Indefinite support for third party web services cannot by offered. It says all feature are subject to change in the T and C's.

We are talking here about one of the major features for this media player, which is now "switched off".

If it is not possible to have this feature automaticaly like previously, then this company should at least write an app which will do scraping for this media player.
There is this TV Renamer app but it is too advanced and therefore complicated.
We need simple solution just for mede8er, and we need it fast.

A major "free" feature. Mede8er have no engineers to do anything now.  If Mede8er had new product you would just be told to upgrade.  It is very old in tech terms.

I'm sure those who created Tvrename would like any feedback on it being "too difficult to use".

I must admit the operation of Tvrename completely foxed me too. If someone could post up a simple and straightforward guide as to how one integrates it in to the everyday operation of the X3D it would be really appreciated.

In the meantime, Iím transferring folder and fanart with with my TV downloads in to the X3D and text info is still scraping so it looks not too bad at all. The only thing I havenít bothered with is replacing the episode jpgs so I still have the exclamation marks for those. But having folder art, fanart and text description for the series and episodes is quite acceptable to me. (Although I understand that the text will stop scraping too at some point in the future).

On a separate note; jer1956 - I donít know what your relationship with Mede8er is, but it is really good of you to continue to help people with their queries and calmly respond to the rants and criticisms of frustrated users. Good on you! You are appreciated!

I'm used to scrape directly on my 800x3d, but only the tvshow scraper doesn't work anymore.
Is there a fix to this issue? If not, how can I scrape exactly like I do it on the 800x3D?
Is there an easy to use software that does exactly the same work that the media player does?

Thanks in advance.

Although there is no fix to scrape directly on the med800x3d, isn't there a software that can do the same thing as the med800x3d scraper does? All it has to do is to generate some jpeg files ;)
