Hey,

So I have my mede8ter, its fantastic. Does everything I want from it.
Here is the flaw I've encountered so far. I say flaw because they are not problems, just firmware fixes:

1.  Movies start with subtitles enabled.
So settle down to watch and as the first word is spoken, its reassured with subtitiles. This is simple to fix.

As I have more issues, I'll post them here. Maybe this thread can be used to make suggestions by all users.

Hi and welcome to the forums.

Please post your suggestions in the 'feedback' forum - other members have already started such threads there.

It has been mentioned that the default 'subtitles on' issue is a Realtek SDK feature, and should be resolved once a new version is provided  by the chip manufacturer and incorporated into the firmware.

Also, I think this would fall under technical issues because it is a bug.

The 'Subtitles ON by default' cannot be categorised as a 'bug' per se, as it was developed as a feature by Realtek and works correctly as per the specification - it would be more correct to address this as a 'change request'.

The change request has been noted where the user could have the option to set their subtitles either 'ON' or 'OFF' by default and, as discussed elsewhere within this forum, this will be addressed in the next SDK and will be incorporated into a future firmware update.

An interim firmware update will make subtitles a little easier to switch off.
