Windows Home Server 2011 & 600X3D -> no connection
« on: February 08, 2017, 05:37:40 PM »
Hi, I have just purchased a used 600X3D on EBAY. I tried to get it connected with my Home Server which is running on Windows Home Server 2011. In the network section of the 600X3D I tried to connect it to the Home Server, however what happens is the following:

In the media library section I have three options: network / UPnP / NFS. Under "network" I only see a subgroup called "WORKGROUP" and under that just "Fritz.NAS" which of course points to my router (Fritz Box), but nothing else. When I tested a 800X3D the other day my Home Server was there immediately. Also my other network folders on other PCs in the network are not there. I return I do not see the 600X3D in the network settings of any of my PCs. What do I need to do to connect the Windows Home Server 2011 & 600X3D ? Best regards, Johi13

You need to change the Host Name in the new player setup. You already have DNS records on you LAN saying the host name X3D belongs to the 800.

What you're saying is I need to change the name of the 600X3D in the menu plus in my router?

No, in the player setup. The firmware defaults to X3D as the Host name. Once you have more than one player you must change the Host Name in the added players setup.

Sorry, are you referring to the "Device Name" in the 600X3D's settings?
