I like to  try and get new things working.  In that way I can say...don't bother...its a pain compared to an X3D.
Android devices where not next generation media players. They where next generation Home Theater PC's, with all the messing that goes with them.

I now have my android box dual booting with Coreelec.   That is very fast....and its Kodi can run autorefresh and supports DTS-MA and true-HD.
Coreelec specialise in hardware drivers for amlogic arm hardware. in this  case the G31 Mali GPU.

May I ask, what android box do you use?
And, Will the coreelec load from an usb stick?

Many thanks, gramophone.
