Internet Services Page update
« on: January 14, 2017, 12:57:40 PM »
We have gone through the links and changed those which didn't load. Those that now load may now overload the browser. Sites have got more complicated since 2012. VideosearchXL now has a matching icon.

Where sites load, but don't run, we will endeavour to find alternatives. We are currently looking at a groveshark replacement. The player used by the new groveshark service requires browser plug-ins. We are trying Jango, but it tries to run a chrome player...and fails. So that link is going to change as we experiment.

The twitter icon on the moviedb link is itself linked to kkbox, the biggest music streaming service in asia. We have no idea if the core site will run via the ssl proxy, as we are out of area.

So the links on the Cloud Page are  Subsonic, the SSL Proxy, kkbox.....and perisonic is a test for html5 clients. The last is part of another project I am experimenting with.

By all means test https sites with the SSL proxy. Some of the main links, now made to work, might be considered unusable, and will need replacing. Want drives the need to experiment. I can't be the only user who wants the player to do more things.

Have tested kkbox via using my tablet as a virtually router, and a vpn to singapore. It isn't web site driven. It needs an app. We need sites which play music via their website. Mede8er1 never had a way to test out of region music services, which is why there are non. Far East, mid east, North American...couldn't be tested so couldn't be linked too.

I have paid for one months Global VPN from my VPN provider. So if there are any online service users want to see tried they should  suggest them over the next month.

Using the vpn has shown that all links via the ssl proxy are detected as having a UK client, as that is where the ssl proxy is hosted.  That is a problem for https music services with region blocks. Even USA users will find USA services are blocked.  Working around that needs more thinking.....

The simplest answer is have say , three hosts for php-proxy, with two new ones,  one in the USA, and the other Asia.

There is a site using the proxy, with a selectable host option. It says it's for unblocking movies. But it will open google as the selected source country. Ours is stuck in the UK.

The twitter icon on the moviedb link is now replaced by one to http://www.101languages.net/

It uses Jnternet Radio as a learning tool. So you pick a language, and hope a list link appears in the left column of options. It also has links to online newspapers, recipes etc.

The perisonic icon is currently testing this:-

http://onlineradiobox.com/

It now has it's own icon.

This website stores the last channel used on the x3d player. So you don't have to keep looking for your favourite channel every time.

It's a good compromise between eye candy and simplicity. Anything too fancy overloads the players browser.

As i pointed out before. I am able to add links for testing to the sub page i host on .click. So please make suggestions of sites you have come across.  If users decide the main page still has unusable links, we could ask Mede8er to replace them with ones tested on .click. Some on the main page are way too complicated for use with the x3d browser.

I have now added a new link with a Test icon. It is currently running a html5 player for testing. Just ask, and we can test something else.

Currently testing Metacafe via the test link.

Trying to think of web services we have never had before. Anyone into Video Blogging? If so, which sites?
