mede8er is dead ? reborn it with open firmware !
« on: December 17, 2016, 02:48:25 PM »
Hi,

I love my mede8er, but i don't see any upgrade since a long time.
I know the mede8er is old now and this is not the problem for me.
(If you prepare a new product, that not a problem too).

If mede8er is not Maintained/your priority the solution is to opening the firmware code and a  new section into the forum for fan developper.

what mede8er staff think about that ?

thanks !

The 1186 SDK is controlled by Mede8ers Prime Contractor. They cost thousands of pounds to licence from realtek. Code won't load anyway without the correct secure boot key. That is an integral part of the SDK. Mede8er are in no position to get and host the SDK.

Are you going to shut down the company? Is this the way to conduct business that we can expect from Sanji in the future? Not having money to pay to fix your products?  a few thousand pounds!!!!!  Mede8ers are not cheap chinese tv boxes. You should have funds to fix your big x3d series selling point. Or at least remove subtitle downloader from your product site.. You don't want too fool someone to get the latest mede8er for subtitles (my exact case). Laughable!

More and more users are following the advice being posted to get Subtitles working. Sanji cannot make an indefinite commitment to change lines of code when third parties internet services change. That is the tail wagging the dog. What profits they have made would just vanish.
