Greetings All!

Not been here for a while. Just thought I'd check in and see what was happening on the 4K front. And understand and agree with that situation.

BUT how anybody can complain about the support for the Mede8er players,  in all their guises, is simply beyond me!

Never have I bought a consumer device, or devices in my case,  that has had such superb support. From both the company and the Moderators - specifically two of which who know who they are! Thank you. 8)

And comparing what is now available on Android and Kodi to what was cutting edge 5 years ago - Mede8er -  just smacks of ignorance and reflects poorly on the instigator...

Well done to all who have  supported this forum and the product set - and good luck with whatever you are on with now!

Right. I'll go back to watching fault free playback on my Mede8er 1000  :)  :)

Wow, is that why people are still buying HD TV's, and Blu-Ray Discs, or even 480p and 576p DVD's

Yeah 1080p Blu-Ray's are really obsolete, and everybody can afford to buy a 4K TV and UHD player, and the 4K UltraHD Blu-Ray discs LEGALLY !!!!!

It's back to the sandbox for you, cause that's the place for you to go and play !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I still use my MED800X3D every day with 1080p content, and when i want to play 4K content, i do it on my smart TV.

FACE IT: There is no, and maybe there will be no 4K player from Sanji, so stop whining about it.

As indicated above Mede8er (International) a.k.a Sanji, are not developing the next player. Mede8er EU have taking that upon themselves, but we are not in the loop on any details or timescale.

Don't get me wrong, i know the Mede8er has it's flaws, but untill now it still does everything i need it to do.

Although i think Sanji can not exist only on the selling of these older models, and have to come up with a new player soon that adds 4K and HDR to the allready existing features, because they are losing the battle of keeping up with modern technology, and will go belly up otherwise.

(And the average customer really doesn't care if it's Sanji international or Europe that is developing the new player)

BTW: the first mentioning of a new player is allready from october 2016 on the European Facebook page  :o

(Just look at the reactions under this post on Facebook

Mede8er heeft de omslagfoto bijgewerkt.

Go belly up? Their current costs are nothing more than running a couple of forum servers. The last players where made ages ago. They no longer consider the market profitable, which means they are still here, but not making players.
They are not going to do an A C Ryan, and see their business as making players, rather than profits.

Sorry for saying, but as you say it, they are ONLY there for money making.

They only keep the forum servers up, and rely on people like you, who care enough for the product to run servers at home with several scripts so users can still use the features they implemented (subtitle downloading, scraping) and THEY abandoned, and won't maintain.

If that's the case, you are really under appreciated  ???

Making money is what a business is all about. Without money you get no future products, but there is no point making products to lose money. That is the sensible business decision they came too. A C Ryan did not, and went bankrupt.

Hi,

Just from a personal perspective.
I purchased a 500X many years ago, fast forward to now and I have three Mede8ers in my home and around eight of my friends now have Mede8ers (which I look after). Over the years I have ripped a selection of movies (3D and normal) from my bluray collection which I keep on them. The Mede8ers do the job that is intended of them and they do it well. I can download .srt subtitles from the internet (if required). I can scrape all the movie info from the internet. I pretty much know everything (I need) to know about the machines for my requirements (and I'm NOT a techie person). What I love most is the slick way they operate (I think that's why my friends have all purchased them), the fact they can all come to me with their Mede8er problems and I also think this is a fantastic Forum with all the helpful Members. It's not often I cannot get an answer to a question within a couple of days of posting.

With regards to 4K, I genuinely believe the company are working on it, but obviously there are certain factors involved (that we will not be aware of) e.g. suitable cost effective chip manufacture that may determine the possible production of a 4K player.

One last point regarding 4K. For many years I have used a Panasonic 55VT50 1080p T.V. which has worked
superbly with a selection of Mede8ers. A couple of weeks ago I purchased (second hand) a 65" L.G. Oled EV6 T.V. When I play 1080p movies via the Mede8er, the L.G. upscales the movies (not to 4K definition) to something between 1080p and 4K. Watching the movies is a revelation and a totally different experience to the Panasonic 55VT50. It's like having a complete new set of movies. For me, this will suffice until Mede8er produce a 4K player.

There are not many products in my home that are purchased due to 'brand loyalty', but in regards to Mede8er products I am guilty of that. Sorry if my bias offends any of the more frustrated Forum members but it's just how I feel about these products.

Chris

p.s. Any members struggling in the U.K. London area, I would be more than happy to help.
