Hallo! Mede8er is dying?
« on: September 04, 2016, 06:34:50 AM »
Is mede8er still alive? For one year has been one fw update.
Do you don't have enough programmers or do you don't have any idea to improvement?  >:(
I have paid 300 eur for mede8er player and I have less fw update than raspberry pi (30 eur).

The player has had many upgrades to get to the point it is now.  It is expensive to make the realtek code do anything by comparison with building free linux with free apps for use on a PI or ARM based device. The recent productiin was meant for Med Fans who wanted a chance to upgrade to the X3D before there where no more 1186 chips available.  It seems some have been sold to new users expecting ARM flexibility.

The Mede8er works, and works well. What more is needed? I see people asking for updates, but what needs to be updated? It plays all my video formats fine and supports HD audio perfectly. I connect to a Synology NAS that has over 1000+ non-compressed movies and tons of TV series. I love this thing!

Personally I think the playback is fine.  In particular for 3D it is probably my favourite player to date. Also at this stage I find it more stable than the Dune HD Solo 4K, but the UI when scrolling through a large media library is too slow I think especially using the built-in media manager.

Yes, 2-3 beta versions.
But beta version is not release version. I am waiting for official release.
Beta phase generally begins when the software is feature complete but likely to contain a number of known or unknown bugs.  :D

Yes, I'm sure. DD, DTS, AVC, DTS MA, True HD Atmos 7.1 MA, ISO.... What more you need?! My device (MED800) works superbly in conjuntion with Denon AV receiver, from 2012 already. No need to upgrade even.
Photos from my Sony Xperia Z5 is not supported. Many other video/photo formats are not supported.

What video/photo formats you mean? Please name "Many others formats"! As far I remember it palys also DiVX, MP3, MP4, etc...

I really like my MED but this is very disappointing for me: http://www.mede8erforum.com/index.php/topic,17220.msg109738.html#msg109738

The realtek software has always been MP3 only. That is why Music Jukebox uses it's own database. That is the only solution on offer.

That is why I asked the support before I bought a MED! And the answer was: "No this will not be possible yet, they are working on a software for it. We don’t know when it will be released."

But you didn't ask for confirmation here? The dev team monitor this forum for bug reports and other issues. A Tech Support guy cannot make commitments for the dev team.

I contacted the official support before I bought the MED. And that is what the majority of customers will do.

Now you say (generalized) that the official support has no clue of his company and their products, wow! Sorry, but this is a lousy excuse! And it is really "great" that you blame the support guy and the customer for the disinterest of the dev team. :o >:(
