Playon a great addons and script program that can be used with mede8er!

Hello forum members,
Ik have the mede8er for 5 weeks now and tryed af lot of things with it.

Ik discovered an the internet a great program that`s called Playon
With this program you can add a lot of features on you`re mede8er

With with this program you van watch internet tv you-tube and lots of stuff.
There are a lot of free pluginns for this program!!!

With some cripts you can even update these cripts an reboot and shutdown you`re PC/Laptop,restart the server of playon
and a lot of other stuff all on the mede8er!!!!!!!!
 There is also great news! it is downloadable on some torrent sites 

Just install playon program and follow the instructions on the manual its easy!

After that you van chose UPnP as fliesource and you will see playon and you can use the great program !!

How does it work?
PlayOn runs in the background on your networked PC. It uses standards called UPnP and DLNA to communicate with networked gaming consoles and TVs, working both as an Internet browser to access online media, and as a UPnP media server to serve videos to UPnP compliant devices. An it doesn't seems to have connection with AC Rayan player even if there's a naming confusion here.

But it could be something cool for users asking youtube...

Can you give us some more information about this application, some screenshots perhaps?
I guess it's some kind of server based application that runs on your PC, how will this show up in the Mede8ter's menu?
The site is not very specific about how it works, or how to configure... (haven't downloaded the demo yet..)

I have tried this, works great with youtube!

Also nice things that work with this:
- uitzending gemist (for Dutch users)
- huge collection of movies with VeeHD script

Amazing how this Upnp software works together with Mede8er. Even resume play seems to work on the streams.

This is bloody awesome love this just bought a license just because it's just so cool

Pity you don't get a nice interface into it, you stuck to "folder" view within Mede8er....

Unless someone else knows different?

hi,

I've installed the program (thanks to rolandvb  )and it seems that everything works but only in preview mode.
As soon as I start the movie the mede8er is buffering and then the stream stops.
What could be the problem? As I mentioned when selecting the movie and the preview starts at the right it doesn't stop streaming.

I don't have this issue, it plays almost everything very well.

Do you have also stuttering when you are streaming over samba from your PC?

I've installed the program on our laptop,
this is a intel celeron  cpu 900 @ 2.20 Ghz , 1Gb installed 32 bits on windows 7 ultimate

Normally I play my movies without any problem of my other pc, as mentioned below

Maybe PlayonTV is realtime converting media formats, which requires a powerfull PC.
I would suggest you give it a try also from your quadcore PC, your specs of your laptop are not really powerfull.

Hi,
tried the playon again but now installed on my quadcore pc but still the same problem.
In preview mode the movie plays without stopping when selecting the movie to actually play it fullscreen,
mede8er immediately says buffering in the left top corner and only plays a few seconds. Then again buffering and the handsymbol in top left corner and the movie freezes.
All is connected with cable.

What FW release on your mede8er you are using?
And do you have an internal HDD installed formatted with mede8er setup?

I can confirm that it works both with 2.1.0 and 3.0 beta without problems for me.

I'll check it 2night, I've no harddisk inside the mede8er.

still I think it's strange that the previewmode plays without problems and the fullscreen needs buffering.
Am I correct to believe that my pc does all the hard (transcoding) work or has the mede8er also to transcode video it's receiving?
Is there a way to check this application only on the pc without the mede8er?
