Mede8er not "playing" photos

Hi,
JPGs show as thumbnails when browsing for media but as soon as I want to "play" it, I get a blank screen.
Videos play perfectly alright.

I'm sure I used this before.
Has something changed or am I doing something wrong ?

Turn on slideshow, last page of setup.

Thanks but this happens when slideshow is set to on. I try to start it from one of the thumbnail photos by pressing the OK button but nothing happens, just the black screen. I can return to the thumbnail menu.
Tried to check the setting for the "Audio" (should be in the same path) but I have not been able to locate that. Therefore I assume I have not changed that either.

When setting slideshow to off, I can view one image by going to its thumbnail and pressing the ok button. But from there I can no longer advance to the next slide  :(
Of course I can go back to the thumbnail menu, select the next slide there and press ok again but that not the way it should work, I guess  ::)

Where  are the photos stored?  Those using a NAS will  always have to  sort out DNS issues after a firmware upgrade.

Photos are stored on the internal HDD (WD Caviar Green 500GB).
- Videos run fine.
- Single JPG can be displayed when Slide Show is set to OFF. In this case, advancing to the next JPG does not work
- When Slide Show is set to ON then selecting a JPG from the media gives a black screen.

ps. I am running a MED800X3D on the v4.0.1 beta code (April 3)

Fixed it !
I performed a Settings Reset of the Mede8er and setting up the few basic install functions like network everything works like a charm ! 
Don't know what brought it into this state (code upgrade ?). At least itīs working again, so who cares   ;D

When upgrading say  a router , you do  get the option  to force a Reset to Defaults. It is often needed to make the new code function.

Now it's my turn to have this black screen.  I guess I must reset the mede8er. I hope it works restoring settings from default after the reset?, right?

Got same problem on a MED800X3D with latest firmware.
Config reset solved the problem, but when I restored the config from a save file the problem reappeared.
It must come from some parameters... now remains to understand which ones :-(

Same problem for me on Med 800 and 600 with the same firmeware 4.0.2 install in december...
Reset and it's OK but I lose all my configuration... Next time I'll save It...!!!

No use of saving the config.  When restoring it,  it will get back to the black screen problem.
