Scraping app for Synology NAS
« on: December 28, 2014, 02:25:28 PM »
Hi,

I have seen that the MissleHugger ( http://missilehugger.com/615/synology-package-yamj/ ) source used to have a scraper available but I can see they discontinued developing it a while ago.

Is there a scraper available these days? I am streaming all my movies from my NAS with NFS and I would very much like my NAS to do the scraping rather than having to manually run it on my notebook.

Thanks!

That would still only have been yamj. Those using it on PC's still have to use y2m.

hmm, i want to buy synology 414j and put all stream from it. Can you use internal scraper from MED1000X3D and scraping to NAS directly? For me internal scraper is great.
Dundy, what NFS using on syno?

Hi,

Thanks but not sure how to understand your reply. Is there a currently available package for Synology to do the scrapping on the NAS without the need to run it from a PC?

I use the NFS built into DSM. Is this what you mean?

As for whether you can use the internal scraper of MED1000X3D to scrape the NAS directly, that would need to be answered by someone else. I have been trying to find that out ever since I bought the media player but I have not been able to figure out whether you can and if yes how. Please let me know if you have an answer to that.

Sure you can scrape you movies on a NAS from Mede8er X2 and X3D range.

Read the User Guides

http://www.mede8er.com/mede8er_X3_movie_scraper_user_guide_V3.html
http://www.mede8er.com/mede8er_X3_TV_Series_scraper_user_guide_V3.html

Thanks. One the of the first things I did was reading these and then opened this thread:

http://www.mede8erforum.com/index.php/topic,15337.msg100180.html

I tried everything indicated in the guides but I always just got the "No movie info found". However, when I finally figured out how to do the scraping running Y2M for Mede8er on my notebook, it worked nicely and found the details for most of the movies.

Now, what could be the reason for it working nicely on the notebook and failing to do so from the media player itself?

Thanks for sharing any ideas.

Have you checked the access rights for the mede8er on the Nas?
