Question about firmware upgrade
« on: December 19, 2014, 06:09:54 PM »
Hi to All,
I have a question for Mede8er team e for all you.

I own a MED1000X3D with on the 3.06 6May2014 stable firmware witch i have installed on it (via emergency procedure) just after I bought it.

Now the question: what is the best way to upgrade the firmware with the next upcoming stable realease?  standard procedure or emergency procedure? and what are the pros and cons of each solution?.

Thank you.
and thank for your wonderful machine!!!.

bishop2020,

there is an important difference between installation with emergency procedure and installation through the upgrade option in setup menu.
The emergency procedure (which is always recommended) performs a clean install, erasing all settings, not surprisingly it is possible to save all settings on a USB stick and then restore them again, after the emergency procedure, from the USB stick.
