If I use the .MVC. sintax in the filename of my movie, the Mede8er automatic enables the 3D function of the Mede8er.
But then my TV doesn't recognise the movie as 3D.

When I then, while playing the movie go back to 2D via menu-key, my TV suddenly detects it is an 3D movie and asks to enable the TVs 3D function.

When I don't use the .MVC. syntax, my 3D TV does detect the movie is 3D and asks to enable the 3D function. How come?
I think this doesn't work well.

I have a Panasonic TX-L42FT60 3D-LED TV.

Is it working any different from  using .TAB. ?   .mvc was only added because some wanted a matching trigger, but it makes no difference to users who couldn't make the previous trigger name to  work.

I have just tested 2 MVC mkv, one with the name tag, and the other without. The one with triggered 3d just like a 3d iso. Do you have the same issue with 3d iso....which don't need a name trigger?

It is MVC your testing?   MVC is not a magic bullet setting for all 3d formats.

I only see that message from my Panasonic for anamorphic SBS from my sat box, which needs the TV to convert to interleaved left/right images.  So are you files really SBS, thus needing that trigger instead?

Thx for the new fw, great to see there`s still support.

No fix for wrong fileorder for 2 directory`s or 2 files.  (still starts with season 2 then 1)
No fix for losing view settings after rescan series directory.

I don't use the .TAB. functionality atm. I was testing the .MVC. at this moment.
I can agree the .MVC. isn't a magic bullet settings for all 3d formats.

The only thing I would like to say is that when using this filename format the Mede8er doesn't send the "Hello TV this is a 3D movie, please enable your 3D function" message to my TV.

The Mede8er does send this message when I'm not using the .MVC. filename format. So it looks like enabling the Mede8er 3D-function via settings while playing a movie tells the Mede8er to NOT send this "Hello TV this is a 3D movie, please enable your 3D function" message to my TV.

It is for me....there is no difference in how the TV is responding to previous firmware. The MVC trigger is purely semantics for those who objected to using tb for MVC. It isn't doing anything new.

Try reflashing.

Reflashing isn't the solution. Before, there was no MVC functionality. It has been added in this firmware.
I only want to say is that when I use this MVC syntax in my filename it automaticly enables the mede8er 3D function when playing that movie. This doesnt get detected by my TV.

The point is that when manually enabling this mede8er 3D function my TV suddenly does detect it is an 3D movie and asks to enable the TV's 3D functionality. There seems to be a different handling towards my TV.

There was an MVC trigger before...it shared the TB trigger...and worked. This change is  purely semantic....allowing an MVC trigger text to  trigger it instead.

If you saying that  older trigger didn't work either with previous firmware...then  you have an issue with your TV.

This is in the makemkv mvc  tip
Quote
* Automatically open in 3D with Mede8er Firmware V1.0.4 and later. Add 'TB' or '3DTAB' to file name
Example 'file.name.TB.mkv' or 'file.name.3DTAB.mkv'

That now needs changing (hint!!) :D

N.B Reflashing is suggested when you have an issue others don't...as bad logic can be created through a bad flash.

I have just checked and .TB. still triggers MVC as it did before. So the new MVC text trigger is an addional feature, not a replacement for sharing TB, or anything else contagious for that matter! :o

MKV file as always.

So MVC MKV worked before using .TB.  ?

Now we have 3 extensions (.tb, .3dtab, .mvc) for the same trigger and the requested wxtension (.3DRL) to trigger right-eye-first-movies is still missing. :(

They may seem similar to end users, but we know there is an SDK command to pick 3d processing before the 3d code starts as its already working. It dosnt follow there is an obvious command for selecting left right "before" the 3d code starts.

So one is just a tweak.....the other an investigation, new code and debugging.
