The auto standby countdown will only be reset when using a remote and using play mode.
So if you have long copies running that go over the auto standby period set, you will need to turn that option off.
This is not strange and known.

There is a problem with "Restore config": requests password. Why?
1. I don't use any password
2. Pin protection is "Off"

Please check the user manual. Default pin is 0000. And for firmware update there has been always a pin.
Please also read the firmware release notes as it advices to install by firmware emergency recovery mode and not use the menu option.

O.K. 0000 works but...Why is it neccessary?
For example: I don't update fw just want to try other settings and - after that - restore the saved ones. Why do I need a password for this?

To prevent users resetting their unit undesired.  Specially for those that don't read the user manual :-)

M8R, just popped in to say thanks much for the continued great support of this player. My 2 M8R X6003D's remain my dedicated home theater boxes even since I got them soon after their release :).

This is even after finding some promising new boxes recently... but they all have shortcomings: VidOn Box (Plusses are just $69, XBMC, full 3D, HD audio and Android apps; minusses are HDMI/AVR issues and bad remote) and Chromebox w/OpenELEC (XBMC, proper framerates, hd audio, but sadly no full 3D).

M8R, are you guys looking into RTD's 1195 chip? For whatever next box you guys do, would be great to have everything we now do with X3D, but with XBMC as the media hub.
(2x) MED600X3D (HDMI Auto, auto frame rate, RAW 7.1 audio)
Firmware: Always Latest Beta
Networked via CAT5e
Streaming from Synology DS1812+ NAS via NFS
BenQ W1070 projector with 133" 16x9 Da-lite High Power screen
Audio connection via HDMI to Denon AVR-1913 receiver
Audio output to Pioneer SP 'Andrew Jones' 7.1 speaker system
Also networked: HTPC's, Fire TV's, Roku, PS3

If you have links to  the issues you have stated please post them.

Some new companies are thinking its easy to order cheap hardware and just dump off the shelf software on it, expecting someone else like the chip maker will sort out the bugs for free. The reality is not like that. Each OEM has to spend manhours..I.e money, identifying the issues that need fixing, and then pushing the chip maker to fix it. That requires cash flow, cash flow these new companies don't have, and cash flow you can't generate at such low prices.

Its too simp!istic to think that if you reduce your price then increased sales will generate the cash flow, because all you competitors are thinking the same, so no one does generate the cash flow needed to mature the product.

At some point the market implodes, many suppliers vanish and prices can rise to those needed to make a quality product by those companies left to pick up the pieces.

Did you read mine? Do you consider Sanji to be a "new" company?  ;)

My comments where about how difficult it will be for "anyone" to create a quality product at such low prices.

OK, now I am confused... ???

You wrote: "If you have links to  the issues you have stated please post them."

But, he didn't state any issues with the mede8er..., or is it because you want him to post links to issues stated for the non-mede8er products (which doesn't make sense to me why you would want that?)?

Fore warned is fore armed. If I know of issues these other boxes have I can look for them if I am ever asked to test a future model. That way sanji can make a better version by fixing those issues, when it is economically viable to  do  so.  That means when  the maket comes to  it senses and allows manufacturers to  charge something nearer to  the cost of an X3d.  As long as many buyers  are happy to  buy these cheap  boxes on a "warts and all" basis, there wont be enough buyers left to make a more expensive player with less bugs viable. A reduced economy of scale would make such  a model  more expensive than  an x3d, not cheaper.

Got it  :)

And I agree. I have several friends who has purchased the cheap android sticks/boxes, Chromecast, etc., and they are all frustrated with functionallity and features  ::)

I then give them the link to the mede8er homepage  ;D

I updated my mede8er 800 to the latest firmware today. I deleted he about.jpg and rescanned my movie collection but now the scaper won't pick up any new movies I have. Do I need to remove my movie folder from the favourites screen and then re add it to favourites after a firmware update to get the scraper to work properly again??
