SATA 5TB / 6 TB compatibility with X3D Series

Going back to the original question, I have a 6tb WD Red in my MED1000X3D to play my 3D ISO's and it plays perfectly. My network struggled with the bit rate required for 3D ISOs. I also have a Synology DS415+ for the rest of my media; again no issues. Prior to investing in a NAS, I did have 4 x 4tb WD external HDD's connected to a hub. The 1000X3D was able to read all the drives via the usb port; again with no issues. The only reason I moved from this configuration was because I wanted to network my entire house.

Hello,
I have another problem. I bought 6TB Seagate IronWolf disk. After formatting as internal in Mede8er it is visible and working OK, but when I connect this HD to my PC (Windows 10 64bit) through SATA interface for faster transfer, after connecting it back to Mede8er it is not visible. I have to format it again to get it working.
Any idea how to fix this problem?
Firmware version of Mede8er: 4.0.2

To disconnect drive from pc properly, you need to use a "usb disk ejector" tool; link should be available through a search on the forum. This is not the same as the usb eject functionality built into windows. If you consistently use the tool you'll be ok.

Good question! I don't now why nobody has provided an answer?
There is probably a reason why it cannot be done but I can't think what that may be.

I have an old X500 that i have been using for a few years i got a 10 port USB hub and connected it to my X500, then no knowing any better i proceeded to connect 10 portable Hdd ranging in size from 2TB-4TB . It's working. although i only put movies in mine but i use it everyday.hehehe
