How to play all music tracks randomly with 3.0.2 firmware
« on: March 15, 2014, 02:27:34 pm »
Can somebody please give me a hint: how can I play all my music tracks randomly on MED500X2 since the Music search option is not available anymore since firmware 3.0.2? Until now it was a simple way to do that, now it's gone  :(
Thanks in advance,
Keram

Try this:
- goto your top music folder with media library and put the focus on that top folder (don't go in it).
- press the menu button on remote
- put it on music filter
- now press play and choose the random play button/icon

Thanks for your quick answer but it is not working as I would expected.
My music collection is organised as follows: Music folder -> subfolder per Artists -> Albums per artist (tracks from one album per folder). When I follow your instructions with 3.0.2 firmware only the tracks directly in top music folder are shown/played but not from subfolders. On 3.0.1 firmware only the first album folder of the first artist is played.
Does it mean I need to organise my music differently?
For now I stick by 3.0.1 firmware.

I mean no disrespect but do you really want this?

We have music in just about any genre you can think of so playing all tracks at random could get a bit messy.

You could use Tagscanner to group all tracks of a certain genre together and create a playlist.

Sometimes I want to play all my music tracks randomly and just be suprised what comes next. Just turn the Mede8er on and enjoy music for a few hours, without having to create playlists etc. Nothing strange I would say.

Still can't imagine listening to Ella Fitzgerald first and S@x Pistols next ;).

Anyway, like i said, you can use Tagscanner to create a playlist of all of r tracks and play them.
