Already testing now in Mai? But the 4k-box will be released in the 4th quarter. Possibly not until in december 2016. These are still 7 months. Are you sure?

Maasbommel and I get unboxed reference boards to help test the software, well before units are ready. I see no mention in any correspondence that anything is happening.

Okay, I've understood. But what I mean is, do you get the boxes so early? 7 month before release? Maybe you get it 3 month before? Maybe in september?

We get dev boards very early because the software takes months to develop. There is no such development going on.

Mede8er have always developed their own code. Next gen ARM devices all come supplied with off the shelf kodi based builds, and your free to change it. There is no profit to be made in that market.

I don't know for a date of release but for a future Mede8er 4K player, not what I was told by Mede8er1.

What technical characteristics will have on new Mede8er 4k?

the post above juste said that no info will be given until the device is ready to launch !

anyway...mede8er will probably release a 4k device....fortunately all 4K boxes out there are more or less disappointing aside from the SHIELD and maye Q5/10 pro....

so MEDE8er has TIME to make it the PERFECT media player that will last until 2020...HDCP 2.2, HDR10...great upscaling capapilities, 10 bits REC2020...and who knows maybe dual BOOT with kodi possibilities !

i almost got a shield...but decided to wait end 2016 to see if this one comes out

I like to wait longer until there is a reasonable 4K media player from Mede8er.

seems the first device with the NEW Realtek RTD1295 SoC is out in a few days ! the ZIDOO X9S will cost 149$...so mede8er can announce something soon i guess !

the best idea for mede8er would be to make this their LAST multimedia player (as the market will probably be dead by 2020....) by proposing a DUAL BOOT device: Librelec and Mede8er OS  :o

Is there any news on the subject?
There are many new 4K Media Players out now, but I still prefer a Mede8er..
