Hi!

I have my Mede8ter connected to my home network (one pc with Wondows Vista 64-bit and PS3). I have shared one of my harddrives of my pc, but now it doesn't recognize this harddrive anymore. It does recognize my pc, but I can't access the harddive through the Mede8ter. What could be the problem?  I have updated the firmware (version 2.02) a few days ago, but it worked fine after that, until today...

And is it possible to access the network without using a password? I never had a password on my pc, but now I have one because I couldn't fined a way to bypass this on the Mede8ter.

Thanks!

Hi Patrick,

Have you already read the Mede8er Beginners Guide in the Tips section.
In the FAQ there are some tips howto setup file sharing with a Win7 PC connected.
Also look at the other posts about Win7 in the Tips section of the board.

Hi!

I followed all your instructions, again. But the Mede8eter recognizes my PC, it shows up in the Workgroup folder, but the Harddrive I'm sharing doesn't show up. It used to show-up before. Do yuo know what the problem can be?

Thanks!

Hi Patrick,

Please tell some more about your configuration to be able to get an idea what is the root cause of your problems:
1. do you have an internal disk in your mede8er, if yes is it formatted from mede8er menu?
2. what kind of network setup do you have (wifi, fixed lan cable, which router or switch) and how are things connected?
3. is connection from your PC to the internal disk possible (if you have one installed)?
4. did you setup your shared folders on your PC with a guest account of other account?
5. did you try to use the registry hacks as described here http://www.mede8erforum.com/index.php?topic=64.0
6. did you try to reset your network (unpower your network router/switch, mede8er, pc, etc) and start up again.

Without giving as much details as possible, it will be really difficult to find out what is giving you this problems.

Hi Maasbommel,

Groet,
